Live the high life, literally, when you visit one of the many sky bars in Bangkok. The ultimate destinations for a chic and classy night out, and let’s not forget those unforgettable views, rooftop bars can be found all over the city. For many visitors, the higher the bars are, the better, though don’t write-off those that are on lower buildings, they can be just as good when it comes to ambiance and the quality of drinks and cocktails. And remember, these are classy places so dress to impress – no sleeveless shirts for men, no sandals, and no shorts, and torn looking jeans might get you refused entry as well.
So if you’re looking for the best sky bar in Bangkok, read on as we have the Top 20 Sky Bars in Bangkok…
1. Vertigo and Moon Bar, Banyan Tree Hotel
Our number one best sky bar in Bangkok is the Vertigo and Moon Bar! Set up on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree Hotel this is one of the highest sky bars in the city, and as the name suggests it’s probably not the ideal place to bring someone who doesn’t like heights! But, if you’re ok with the heights you’re in for an amazing night out enjoying the beautiful views over the city and the winding river. The views aren’t too dissimilar to Sky Bar at Lebua and despite the fact that this place doesn’t have a Hollywood accolade it makes number one on our list because it’s quieter and more relaxed than Sky Bar. Here you actually have the chance to sit and enjoy the views while relaxing over a cocktail whereas there you’ll be competing for elbow room. Vertigo restaurant is at one end of this completely open rooftop venue and the Moon Bar is at the other, connected together via an open-air bridge, this place really is everything what you would expect from a sky bar in Bangkok!
2. Octave Rooftop Bar, Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit
The amazing 360 degree views from this Bangkok sky bar is one of the top selling points yet because the hotel is not right on the main tourist drag you can enjoy the views in relative peace and quiet, without having to battle for a table or a seat. This is also helped by the fact that Octave Rooftop Bar is set over three floors at the top of the hotel and that the designers made sure there was a substantial selection of seating that would be able to enjoy those breathtaking views. With three floors to choose from you can select which one best suits your mood, from the lounge atmosphere on the first level, perfect for dinner, to the DJ chillout tunes on the floor above.
3. Mahanakhon Bangkok Skybar
Set on the top few floors of one of Bangkok’s most visually stunning skyscrapers, King Power Mahanakhon, this Bangkok Skybar does not disappoint. Consisting of a rooftop brasserie and skybar and an indoor restaurant with soaring windows that is said to be the highest restaurant in Thailand, it is no surprise that the views from here are really quite spectacular. For drinks, the rooftop bar has more cocktails than you can name, and a list of over 100 wines, while the restaurant serves Western and Asian foods. Sophisticated and stylish, this is a place where you should dress to impress.
4. Above Eleven
Offering great views of the Sukhumvit area of Bangkok, Above Eleven is a full bar and restaurant set on the 33rd and 34th floors of the Fraser Suites. 5. SEEN Restaurant & Bar Bangkok
Art Deco inspired, SEEN is a stylish rooftop bar and restaurant that is set on the 26th and 27th floors of the AVANI Riverside Bangkok Hotel. One floor below, the restaurant offers indoor or outdoor dining and an a la carte international fusion or sushi menu from an awarded chef. Later, a live DJ ups the beat in this sophisticated rooftop bar and restaurant.
6. Cru Champagne Bar
Cru Champagne Bar is a true rooftop bar, set on the 59th floor of the Centara Grand, above another of Bangkok’s most desirable sky bars, Red Sky. This elevated rooftop provides a full 360 degree panorama over Bangkok that is simply stunning at sunset or wait around for the after dark party to start later in the evening.
7. Sky Bar, the Dome at Lebua State Tower
This has to be the most famous sky bar in Bangkok though the drawback to fame is the inevitable crowds. Sky Bar by Lebua is a fabulous place, there’s no doubting it, and if you’re a fan of The Hangover movies this will be the place you want to visit for a night out, but expect it to be busy. The buzzing vibe may be just what you’re looking for, and when combined with the amazing views from the 63rd floor you can see why the location scouts for the popular Hollywood movie picked this place above all others. Look out over the river and the city as the sun sets over Bangkok.
8. Red Sky Restaurant & Red Sky Bar
The 55th floor and up of the Centara Grand at Centralworld is the home of Red Sky Restaurant and Red Sky Bar as well as the Cru Champagne Bar, right on the rooftop. Jungle-themed, Tichuca Rooftop Bar joined the ranks of Bangkok’s best sky bars when it opened in 2020. Set on the top three floors of the T-One building, 46 floors above the streets of Bangkok, this bar is as famous for its amazing LED tree as it is for the views. More reminiscent of a venue in Tahiti than Thailand, the jungle theme provides unique wood furniture and benches made to look like solid stone. Tropical cocktails are served out of pineapples and coconuts, and if you want to stay for a while there are some tasty small bites available to order alongside your cocktails.
11. Cielo Sky Bar & Restaurant
A classy combination of Art Deco meets 1960s, Cielo Sky Bar and Restaurant is situated on the 46th floor of the Skywalk Residences, offering 360 degree views of Bangkok that are a little different to most. With a larger menu than many other sky bars, Cielo feels more like somewhere you would want to spend a relaxing evening rather than just a fleeting visit. Wines, beers and signature cocktails are on the drinks’ menu, while the full-service restaurant combines Thai and Western dishes. And, with many tables and comfortable sofas to choose from, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the views.
12. Penthouse Bar + Grill
Spanning the 34th to 36th floors of the luxurious Park Hyatt Bangkok, Penthouse Bar + Grill is not just one venue, but six. If it’s the views you want, these are best enjoyed from the aptly named Rooftop Bar where cocktails and classics are served with snack-sized foods among the outdoor garden lounge setting with jazz tunes playing in the background. 13. Char Bangkok
CHAR Rooftop Bar and its accompanying restaurant are set on the 25th and 26th floors of the Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road, making this the first sky bar on Wireless Road. The Bangkok skyline rises up around this rooftop bar, allowing for some amazing city views while enjoying classic cocktails or more modern creations. DJs play a creative combination of tunes that will appeal to many different tastes, while bar snacks and cigars are served. For dinner, head down to the 25th floor and the CHAR Restaurant, serving grilled meats and seafoods.
14. HI-SO Rooftop Bar
The bar and restaurant of HI-SO stands out among all the many other sky bars in Bangkok because its views are different to the norm. Set on the 29th floor of Sofitel So, this rooftop bar has a beautiful view over the greenery and lakes of Lumphini Park and beyond to the skyscraping skyline of Siam and Silom offering the perfect combination of a nature versus man vista! The best time to enjoy these views is around sunset as the sun goes down and you’ll get to see the park and the changing light of the city, making this destination perfect for romantic evenings.
15. Zoom Sky Bar
Set on the 40th floor of the Anantara Sathorn Hotel, Zoom Sky Bar and Restaurant covers the entire roof of the hotel giving ample space to stretch out and enjoy the cocktails. If you’re planning to dine first the restaurant serves a cosmopolitan menu of modern French with an Asian twist or you can just select a few options from their light bites menu. Also, unusually for Bangkok, they do serve nibbles with the cocktails and if you come before 8pm you’ll be able to enjoy plenty of great value happy hour cocktails. The biggest thing you’ll come for is the views – because the bar covers the entire roof you can walk to all corners for a 360 degree uninterrupted city view, including the sunset. Mellow music plays in the background for an enjoyable evening.
16. Blue Sky, Centara Grand Lad Prao
The 24th floor location of Blue Sky may have you thinking the views wouldn’t be so great, but think again. Located north of Bangkok centre the Grand Lad Prao Hotel is not surrounded by high-rises so it actually offers a fabulous, uninterrupted view of the big city lights of downtown Bangkok, just a short distance away, while below are the leafy vistas of Chatuchak Park. Blue Sky also features a restaurant serving French-inspired contemporary cuisine which, though on the pricey side, is of a fabulous quality.
17. The Speakeasy Rooftop Bar
While The Speakeasy is not situated on an impressively high floor it has made our list because it offers something a little different and unique to other sky bars in Bangkok. Themed on the 1920’s Prohibition era, The Speakeasy is fun and funky with nice touches like cocktails in jam jars and a cocktail menu that nods toward the vintage and classic drinks as well as more modern concoctions. With jazz music playing in the background this really is a swinging place to spend an evening, starting with a meal in their restaurant area.
18. Mojjo Rooftop Lounge Bar
Find your mojo at this cool and chic Cuban-inspired rooftop bar, set on the 32nd floor of the SKYVIEW Hotel Bangkok. This may not be one of the highest sky bars, but its Latin vibe makes it one of the most appealing with its mid-century Cuban furniture, plenty of rum-laced drinks, and a South American food menu to accompany. Let’s not forget the Cuban cigars and Latin-inspired tunes from the in-house DJ that all combine for an unforgettable evening overlooking the Sukhumvit area of Bangkok. Guests certainly feel like they have been transported back to 1905 Havana at Mojjo!
19. Scarlett Wine Bar & Restaurant
On the 37th floor of the Pullman Bangkok Hotel G, Scarlett is a cut above other rooftop bars and restaurants with its Michelin-recommended restaurant serving French-inspired cuisine. With both indoor and outdoor sections to this sky bar, there is a setting for all occasions. Enjoy the views from the bar stools perched on the edge of the open air terrace or settle inside for a more elegant dining experience. The views of the Bangkok skyline and Chao Phraya River are to die for, and the extensive wine list along with plenty of cocktails and beers to choose from make Scarlett a great choice whatever the occasion.
20. The Roof Top Bar, Baiyoke Sky Hotel
Our number ten entry is actually the highest sky bar in Bangkok situated on the 83rd floor of the Baiyoke Sky Hotel. It would have ranked higher on our list if it was genuinely a rooftop bar but the bar itself is down one level from the roof. Even so, once you’ve grabbed a drink you can head up another floor and hang out at the revolving observation deck with gazebo. The best thing about The Roof Top Bar is the views, and from all the way up on the 83rd or 84th floor they are of course spectacular. Depending on the time you arrive you may be asked to pay an admission fee but this does include your first cocktail.
